Mercedes is a Los Angeles-based actor and narrator who loves inhabiting complex, vulnerable and dangerous characters. A graduate of UC Irvine with Honors in Acting, she has performed on stages in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and throughout Eastern Europe, and is a founding member of the Ovation Award-winning Fugitive Kind ensemble. Recent screen credits include HBO’s Minx, Peacock’s Queer as Folk and Hulu’s Pam & Tommy, while her voice can be heard in the Netflix series Smiley and the film Piracy. 

Often cast as a brave yet sensitive mother, a complicated, sensual anti-heroine, or an ambitious, calculating professional, Mercedes’ performances have been described as “feisty and intense”, “powerful” and “fiercely committed”. Her passion for scripts that are disruptive, mysterious, and transcendent makes her a natural fit for audiobook genres such as sci-fi and fantasy, unapologetic memoirs, sprawling historical fiction and steamy romances. She has studied with Larry Moss and Christinna Chauncey for film and television, and is currently working with Elise Arsenault on cultivating her work as a narrator. 

As one of five children raised by fine-artist parents in a rural mountain town, Mercedes’ early love for art, nature and books continues to define her today. When not performing, she can be found at the barn riding her handsome Dutch Warmblood, Frisco Disco, tending to her California-native plant habitat, and spending time with her musician husband and spirited, creative, tight-knit family. She is a proud leftist and closely follows progressive politics, knows her way around power tools, delights in getting her hands dirty and canoodling with her cat, Kiki and dog, Biscuit.
